Clack’s Bridge Partial Reconstruction
Oxfordshire County Council is partially reconstructing Clack’s Bridge, which carries Standlake Road over a backwater of the river Windrush, east of Standlake. These works are planned to start 20th July 2026 and are anticipated to last approximately 7 weeks.
The existing bridge deck is in poor condition and requires replacement. Unfortunately, the carriageway is too narrow to maintain vehicular access through site during partial demolition and reconstruction.
The road will be closed at the bridge for the duration of the works, with a signed diversion route in place as shown overleaf. Access to all properties and field gates either side of the bridge will be maintained.
Pedestrian, equestrian and dismounted cyclist access will be maintained through site via a temporary footbridge.
The works have been programmed to minimise impact on school buses. We have coordinated with West Oxfordshire Community Transport to provide additional resource to mitigate impact on the number 418 bus service between Standlake and Eynsham.
